Over 2 Million Muslims Prayed Traweeh in Masjid Al Haram on Shab-e-Qadr

According to Saudi officials, almost two million Muslims gathered at the Masjid Al Haram to pray in celebration of Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, during the holy month of Ramadan.

Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, is believed to occur on one of the last five odd-numbered nights of Ramadan (the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th) when darkness arrives before the day. However, many cultures celebrate it on the 27th night.

In Islam, this night is significant because it is supposed to be the night when Prophet Muhammad PBUH heard the first verses of the Holy Quran. Worshippers offered Isha prayer as well as Taraweeh and Qiyamullail special night prayers.

The roads leading to the Masjid Al Haram were reportedly filled with devoted pilgrims who visited Saudi Arabia over the last 10 days of Ramadan. During Taraweeh prayers, the streets around the Masjid Al Haram were filled with worshippers, with believers visible everywhere, according to viral social media videos.
