Despite the Sindh government having stated many times that cheating and paper leaks will not happen during exams, there were multiple reports of paper leaks during the recent matriculation exams in the province.
The Sindhi language exam paper was leaked before the exam in Larkana, so students had no difficulty solving it. Larkana Education Board’s efforts to keep students from doing wrong have been seriously called into doubt by this event.
Leaks of the Urdu paper, published in Kandiaro by the Shaheed Benazirabad Board, also made it into popular WhatsApp groups. This incident has highlighted the need for stricter measures to protect the confidentiality of exam papers.
Students in Khairpur reportedly had access to the English language section of the exam before it even started. Questions regarding exam supervision were also raised when it was discovered that certain invigilators helped students with the paper.
Girl students also took advantage of the situation by using WhatsApp to get to and solve test papers without getting in trouble. This trend points to the need for enhanced security measures and vigilance to prevent such incidents in the future.
