Microsoft has started testing a redesigned web interface for Xbox Cloud Gaming to bring it closer to the Xbox console experience on devices.
The preview is currently available to Xbox Insiders. It brings some changes to navigation, animations, and layout, making the web version more polished and console-like. Microsoft seems to be focusing on smoother movement and faster access to the games.
Users testing the update will see a sliding dashboard that appears smooth rather than loading separate pages. An animated Xbox icon now reacts as users move through sections. Transitions between menus also feel faster and more connected than ever.
A new library has also been added, and it is easier to find and launch games. Rounded visual elements are now used across the interface, replacing sharper edges from the older design. These updates are based on the previous feedback that the web version felt more like a standard website than a gaming platform.
Patrick Siu, principal product manager at Xbox, explained that the preview is to test the new design and the overall flow of the product. He described it as a base for future Xbox experiences.
The web interface last saw a major update almost two years ago, when Microsoft added social features inspired by the Xbox dashboard.
Microsoft has not confirmed when the new design will roll out to all users. The company has also not said that this interface will affect future Xbox hardware. For now, the preview offers a clearer look at how Microsoft wants Xbox to feel across cloud, web, and console platforms.
