MDCAT Exams Scheduled for September 10 Across Sindh

The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) examination for students aspiring to enter medical and dental colleges in the province of Sindh, including Karachi, has been rescheduled to take place on September 10, 2023. The announcement comes after the exam was initially slated for August 27 but was postponed by the government.

The responsibility for conducting this year’s MDCAT has been entrusted to Jinnah Sindh Medical University by the provincial health department. The Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon, has confirmed the venues for the written test. In Karachi, the exam will be held at Karachi University’s Maskan Gate Ground and the Cricket Ground of Dow University Ojha Campus. For the interior regions of Sindh, the test will be conducted at LUMS University Jamshoro in Hyderabad, Bilawal Sports Complex in Nawabshah, and Larkana Police Training School in Shaheed Benazirabad.

The structure of the MDCAT remains unchanged from the previous year, with a total of 200 multiple-choice questions to be answered within a duration of 3.5 hours. The merit formula for MDCAT 2023 comprises 10 percent of the matric score, 40 percent of the intermediate (FSc) score, and 50 percent of the MDCAT score. The minimum passing marks for medical college admission is set at 65 percent, while for dental college admission, it is 55 percent.

This announcement brings clarity for thousands of medical and dental college aspirants across Sindh who have been eagerly awaiting the new date for the MDCAT. With the exam date now confirmed, students can focus on their preparation to secure their future in the medical and dental fields.
