KP Announces Increase in Salaries and Pensions

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) caretaker leadership has made a significant move by announcing significant increases in salary and pensions for working and retired government employees.

During a press briefing earlier today, Himayat Ullah Khan, the Advisor to the Caretaker Chief Minister of KP on Finance, disclosed the new measures.

According to Khan, government employees in grades 1 to 16 would enjoy a 35% increase in salary, while those in grades 17 to 22 will experience a 30% increase. Pensioners will not be left behind, since their pensions will be increased by 17.5%.

In addition, the caretaker leadership has announced a 50% increase in travel allowance for all government employees, with the objective of reducing the financial burden connected with official travel.

In terms of development projects, Khan approved an Rs. 112 billion allocations for the province development budget. This grant will help to support the execution of important projects and initiatives throughout the province.

Additionally, the caretaker government’s strategy for resolving financial difficulties needs special emphasis. Khan stressed that, despite multiple obstacles, the government has taken an intentional decision of refraining from taking out loans to solve these issues.
