Jujutsu Kaisen has been formally declared the most-watched anime in the world. The second season of JJK finished last year following the exciting Shibuya Incident arc of the manga; we must watch and wait for the third season to air to find out what happens next. Here is everything we know about Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 to this date, including the release window, trailer, and cast.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date
Immediately after the end of the adaptation of the Shibuya Incident arc in season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen announced season 3 itself with a teaser. The show’s third season will cover Itadori’s Extermination Arc, Perfect Preparation Arc, and Culling Game Arc, which we have mentioned below.
To the best of my knowledge, the staff of Jujutsu Kaisen has not announced the release date of the third season. However, we have a quiet estimation of the possible time season 3 will be aired. JJK aired its first season in October 2020, and it did not get to season 2 until July 2023.
Using this timeline, we will have to wait at least 2-3 years for our next season of JJK. So, it would be expected to see Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 in late 2025 to early 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Cast & Characters
Besides the dead characters in JJK season 2, such as Nanami’s death and Nobara’s death, most of the characters will reappear in season 3 with several more new characters. Some of the popular characters who will return in JJK Season 3 are:

- Megumi Fushiguro voiced by Yuma Uchida
- Ryoumen Sukuna voiced by Junichi Suwabe
- Yuji Itadori voiced by Junya Enoki

Additionally, some of the new characters who will be making their debut in season 3 are as follows:

- Ryu Ishigori
New characters will increase the number of characters in the cast of Jujutsu Kaisen in the next season.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Trailer & Teaser
Along with the press release regarding the start of work on JJK season 3, a 20-second teaser was published. If you are wondering when we might get the actual trailer that fully previews the Culling Game arc, we have to wait a long while.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episodes
As much as fans would love to know the number of episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, there is still no confirmation. However, it has been officially stated that the third season will adapt the Culling Game arc. Therefore, more than 80 chapters must be crammed into the next season.
As in previous seasons, one should expect season 3 to include approximately 24 episodes. Here is the information about each arc that will be adopted:
- Itadori’s Extermination Arc (chapters 137-143)
- Perfect Preparation Arc (chapters 144-158)
- Culling Game Arc (chapters 159-221)
For the record, 63 Flunked It episodes were used to fill 24 episodes for season 1, while 73 chapters for The Spear were used to fill 23 episodes for season 2. Like in the second season, the anime is divided into mini-arcs, Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc, which can fit into course 1. And just like the Shibuya Incident arc, the Culling Game arc can be squeezed into the second course of season 3.
Even in season 3, it is not easy to achieve as these arcs include many. The only thing that can be done now is to wait and see how many episodes of the Culling Games the anime could include, as it has quite a few cliffhangers.
