The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to finalize and release the category renewals for local players soon, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the popular cricket tournament.

Following the completion of the registration process, the trade and retention window will be opened. The pick order for the player draft for the upcoming season will be shared subsequently. The finalization of retentions and trades is expected to take place in preparation for the HBL PSL 9 Player Draft, tentatively scheduled for mid-December. This follows the conclusion of the National T20 tournament, allowing teams to strategize and build their squads based on recent performances.

The PCB has confirmed the window for the 2024 edition of the PSL is set to run from February 8 to March 24, 2024. The final schedule will be confirmed during the next meeting. The ninth season will feature six teams, with no plans to introduce any additional teams for the upcoming season.
