How to Upload Photos in High Quality on Facebook

What Facebook is all about is sharing images and videos with your friends. However, you may have observed that the quality of your photos decreases when you post them to your Facebook profile page. This is because their sharpness and crispness have reduced after being uploaded.

Facebook degrades the quality of every image, whether it was taken with a DSLR or an iPhone. When you zoom closer on a photo, it will also seem blurry and lose tiny details. When you post your pictures to Facebook, they are compressed.

To improve the user experience on Facebook’s app and website, Facebook will resize and format your images to make them more readable. However, if your photographs are blurry, they may not be enjoyable. With this guide, it is possible to post high-resolution (HD) photos on Facebook without compression. Here are the best quality photo canvas prints online,

How to Upload Photos in High Quality on Facebook

1. Enable upload in HD settings on Facebook

The Facebook app’s settings allow you to upload photos in high resolution. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to your iPhone or Android phone and open the Facebook app.
  • Then, go to the menu bar.
  • Open the Settings & Privacy option and then click the Settings option.
  • “Media and contacts” can be found at the bottom of the page if you scroll down. Click on that option.
  • Just click the “Upload photos in HD” option to make the change. There is a second option to upload HD videos on Facebook. This feature is also available for you to enable if you want it.
  • Your photos and videos will now be posted to Facebook in high resolution.

2. Resize your photos before uploading

Once you upload your photos, Facebook automatically resizes them. Unfortunately, this results in blurry photos. Those who don’t want Facebook to resize their photos before uploading must resize them. According to Facebook’s help page, stock photos should be no more than 2048 pixels, and cover photos should be no larger than 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels high.

Photos uploaded at this site won’t be resized by Facebook, preserving their quality. Android and iPhone users will find the image-resizing apps in their app store. If you’re using a desktop PC, use Picasa or Lightroom. Use online photo resizing tools to do this work.

3. Use JPEG images with an sRGB color profile

According to the Facebook Help page, photos should be in JPEG format with an sRGB color profile. JPEG is the default format for most pictures taken with your phone. Otherwise, you may use the image converter app to convert images to JPEG format.

If you’re looking for a color profile, you can only find it in advanced picture editing tools like Adobe Lightroom. If you have this, save your photos using the sRGB color profile. Your photos will then be ready to upload to your Facebook page! But, of course, they are still of the same high quality.

4. Reduce photos size

Facebook also considers the photo’s size when compressing pictures. Facebook’s increased compression will compress the quality of an image with a huge file size. Be sure to lower the photo’s size before posting it to Facebook to avoid this.

Usually, pictures should have a file size of 100 KB to 200 KB. Again, you may reduce the size of your photos in this range by using an image compressor or editing software. Check to ensure pictures don’t lose quality due to the compression.

5. Upload photos from the Facebook website

Photos lose more quality when uploaded via Facebook or mobile websites, especially with the Facebook Lite application. Therefore, we recommend that you use the desktop version of Facebook. You can also use the Chrome desktop site feature to upload images on a mobile device.

So, here are a few methods (and tips) you may use to post images to Facebook without losing their original quality. Your photos will no longer be blurry.
