How to Apply for Learner License Online in Punjab

Caretaker government of Punjab has rolled out an online system for the application for driving learner’s licenses. This initiative is aimed at simplifying the process and accommodating the increasing number of applicants seeking to obtain their learner’s permits.

License Process

The new online facility was launched on December 11th, 2023, as part of efforts to enhance public convenience and modernize the licensing procedure.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the launch, emphasizing that the service is designed to make the application process more accessible to citizens across Punjab.

How to Apply Online

Prospective applicants can now apply for their learner’s license through the following steps:

  1. Visit the DLIMS (Driving License Information Management System) website and create an account.
  2. Complete the application form with the required information.
  3. Upload the necessary documents, including a recent photograph and a scanned copy of the CNIC (front and back).
  4. If the applicant is over 50 years old, a medical certificate from a government doctor must be provided.
  5. Generate a payment slip ID and pay the fee via ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.

It is important to note that there has been a substantial increase in the learner’s driving license fees, which have risen from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1000, marking a 1566% hike.

However, citizens have been given a grace period until December 31 to apply for their licenses at the current rate before the new fees come into effect on January 1, 2024.

The online service is not only available through the Punjab Police app but also at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Marakiz throughout the province.

This wide availability ensures that individuals from various regions can easily access the service without the need for physical travel to licensing centers.
