ISLAMABAD – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recently announced a significant increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Effective from August 1, 2023, the price per kilogram of LPG will rise by Rs23.87, bringing the new price to Rs201 per kilogram, up from the previous Rs177.
This price hike also affects the cost of an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder, which will now be priced at approximately Rs2,374, marking a substantial increase from the former price of Rs2,092. This translates to an additional cost of Rs282 per cylinder for consumers.
In response to this announcement, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Distributors Association declared a nationwide strike on Monday. The strike is a direct protest against the sudden and considerable increase in prices, which is expected to impact consumers across the country.
