Google Launches Tool to Migrate Podcast Subscriptions from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music

The specific timeline for the availability of tool to users beyond the United States has not been disclosed by Google.

Google has launched a new tool to help listeners migrate their podcast subscriptions from the Google Podcasts app to YouTube Music. The export tool is now available in the Google Podcasts app and website for users in the United States.

To use the tool, listeners can select “Export subscriptions” at the top of the Google Podcasts app or website. They will then need to choose the “Export to YouTube Music” option and tap “Export.” Listeners can then open the YouTube Music app, select “Transfer,” and tap “Continue” to import their podcast subscriptions.

The migration process may take some time to fully complete. Google notes that not all podcasts may be available on YouTube Music. However, listeners can add missing podcasts through the show’s RSS feed link.

The company said it would release a migration tool to make transferring podcast subscriptions easy. Listeners have until July 2024 to export their subscriptions before Google Podcasts is discontinued.

For now, the podcast export tool is only available to listeners in the United States. Google says it will provide updates when the feature rolls out to more regions globally.

The company recommends listeners take advantage of the export tool soon to ensure a smooth transition of their podcast subscriptions to YouTube Music or another platform.
