Reports indicate that the cost of Chilgoza has soared dramatically, with current rates ranging between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 per kilogram—a surge of up to 100% compared to the previous year.

The hike in prices is attributed to a decrease in production, which has not been able to keep pace with the growing demand. The Dry Fruit Union Vice President, Farhad Khan, has expressed concerns that the situation may worsen. He warned that the prices for the fresh stock of dry fruits could become even more prohibitive in the coming weeks, potentially doubling from the already high levels.
