The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced on Sunday that a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Alaska Peninsula, sparking a tsunami warning, with no casualties reported so far.
According to the USGS, the quake was rather shallow, hitting at a depth of 9.3 km (5.78 miles).
It said that while no landslides were forecast, some landslides may have happened in very vulnerable locations.
According to the Alaska Earthquake Centre, the incident was felt broadly over the Aleutian Islands, the Alaskan Peninsula, and the Cook Inlet areas.
