Schools in Dubai are anticipated to begin a nine-week summer break on June 26, 2023, just before Eid Al-Adha, which is expected to happen between June 27 and June 30.
Previously, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) published the calendar for the 2023-24 academic year, which will begin on August 28, offering students a nine-week summer vacation.
Schools have been given significant flexibility in determining the end-of-academic-year dates under the standards of Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
GEMs World Academy will complete the summer semester on Friday, July 7, whereas Dubai International Academy will end the term on Monday, June 26, in accordance with KHDA dates.
Despite KHDA’s insistence that the academic year cannot finish before June 28, many schools have opted for ending the year in conjunction with the anticipated Eid vacation. Following the moon sighting, the KHDA will formally declare the Eid Al-Adha vacations for Dubai schools.
Meanwhile, the dates for forthcoming Islamic holidays and the UAE National Day have been published, with Arafat Day and Eid Al-Adha planned for June 27-30.
The Islamic New Year is expected to fall on July 21, while Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday will be celebrated on September 29. The UAE National Day will be celebrated on the 2nd and 3rd of December.
