Due to Cyclone Biparjoy, the Sindh government has suspended all examinations and educational activities in Karachi.
“Given the high alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the Government of Sindh regarding Cyclone – Storm Biparjoy, which may likely hit the coastal areas of Karachi Division and cause torrential rains/storms in the city,” stated Assistant Commissioner Karachi Abid Qamar Shaikh.
“In light of the above, all examinations, education seminars, summer camps, and education-related activities must be canceled or rescheduled from 14th June 2023 until the end of the storm to avoid any loss of human lives and inconvenience to the general public during the cyclonic emergent situation,” it added.
According to PMD, cyclone Biparjoy was moving north-northwestward over the northeast Arabian Sea in the previous six hours. Cyclone Biparjoy is presently 410 kilometers south of Karachi and 400 kilometers south of Thatta, at Latitude 21.2 21.2°N and Longitude 66.6 °E.
Because of Cyclone Biparjoy, all examinations and other educational activities in Karachi have been canceled.
