The Punjab government has changed the working hours of teachers in all government schools with immediate effect.
The Punjab Education Department has released a notification for the same as per which the working hours of the teachers have been fixed from 7:45 am to 2:30 pm.
Also, from Friday, the teachers will be allowed to leave school at 12.30 PM. The schools will be visited on Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm.
Earlier, the provincial education department informed teachers that they must follow the new working hours, which have been extended from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Summer vacations in all the schools in Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, ended on August 14, and all the schools reopened on January 15, 2024.
Punjab School Education Department has also released a calendar for new schools starting August 15, when schools will reopen after summer vacation.
New School Timings in Punjab
According to the said notification, schools falling under the morning shift will open at 8 am and close at 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and up to 12 in the mid-orders of Friday.
For the double shifts and the afternoon shifts, the morning session will run from 8:00 to 12:00, while the afternoon session will begin at 13:00 and end at 17:30 on the same day; on Fridays, the time frame of the evening shift will be from 14:00 to 17:30.
