The interim government of Punjab has announced a change in the timings for all state-run and private schools across the province for the winter season.
This decision was made to accommodate the changing daylight hours during the colder months. The new schedule will be effective from October 16, 2023.
Under the new schedule, schools will start at 8:00 am and continue until 2:30 pm on all weekdays except Friday. On Fridays, the school timings will be from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm. These winter timings will remain in effect until the arrival of spring, after which officials will announce a new schedule.
In addition to the change in school timings, the announcement for winter vacations will also be made later after official meetings.
The decision to adjust school timings is a common practice in regions where daylight hours significantly change with the seasons, ensuring that students can travel safely to and from school.
