The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has restored the provision of laptops to all university students in the province. The news marks the end of a seven-year wait for the students of Punjab to benefit from the government-provided laptops.
Further, in a meeting to discuss GSHS reforms, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued the order to restart the laptop kit program for the students of Punjab. The provision of computers will help students across the province in all academic institutions.
To restore the laptop scheme, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that many new universities and colleges must be opened in the remote areas of Punjab, which must be of international high standard. CM Maryam also stated that a revolution must take place in the education sector to change the landscape to enhance the full spectrum of education all across the province.
CM Maryam was given a detailed presentation of the difficulties in higher education. These include higher education promotion and students’ laptops and transport services. Over 650,000 students have recently been admitted to universities in the private and public sectors of Punjab. The students should be supported through creative mechanisms such as student laptop schemes to foster academic distinction.
