Khyber Medical University (KMU) successfully conducted MDCAT across seven districts in the province. This critical examination was held at eleven centers located in Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Swat, Lower Dir, Kohat, and Dera Ismail Khan.

The MDCAT is a pivotal step for students aspiring to enter medical and dental programs, and the 2023 iteration saw a total of 46,218 candidates register for the test. Out of these, 34,852 candidates, representing 75% of those registered, appeared for the exam. Unfortunately, 11,366 candidates, or 25%, were absent on the test day.
The results of the KMU MDCAT 2023 were impressive, with 21,206 candidates, which is 61% of those who appeared, passing the test and thus becoming eligible for admission into MBBS programs as per the criteria set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). Furthermore, an even higher percentage, 70%, passed the criteria for BDS programs, with 24,283 candidates succeeding.
