Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad has officially released the examination timetable for the Matric annual exams for the year 2024. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, conducted by the Federal Board, are set to take place in March 2024.
In a significant shift from previous years, the second annual board examinations, previously known as supplementary exams, have been scheduled for July 2024. This new schedule will be adopted by all boards across Pakistan, creating a uniform examination process throughout the country.
The Federal Board has also introduced an opportunity for fresh candidates to participate in the second annual examination. This move is part of the board’s efforts to increase inclusivity and provide more opportunities for students to excel.
Another major change coming into effect in 2024 is the transformation of the grading system. The traditional marks system will be abolished, and students will now be awarded grades and a Grade Point Average (GPA) on their final result cards. The old practice of mentioning total marks and subject-wise scores on result cards will be discontinued from 2024 onwards.
The Federal Board’s strategic unveiling of the examination timetable brings clarity and consistency to the academic journey of matric and intermediate students in Pakistan for the year 2024. The first annual SSC examination is slated for March 2024, while the second annual SSC examination will take place in July 2024.
