The ruling for the Eid sermon is the same as the ruling for the Jummah sermon. The Sunnah for the Eid sermon is the same as it is for the Jummah sermon. But there are two differences in the ruling of Eid Sermon. After the Eid prayer, the Imam will deliver two Eid sermons. Every year, Muslims observe two festivals: Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha.
According to the Hanafi School, the deeds that count as-Sunnah for Friday sermons are the same as those for Eid sermons, with two exceptions:
The first difference between Eid sermons is that in Eid sermons, it is Sunnah for the Imam not to sit before the first sermon of Eid prayers.
The second difference between Eid sermons is that it is considered sunnah for the Imam to read AllahuAkhbar nine times before the first sermon, seven times before the second sermon, and fourteen times before coming down from the minbar.
Although speaking of this Takbirat in a Friday sermon is not Sunnah, behaviors that are considered Makroh in Eid sermons are likewise considered Makroh in Friday sermons.
The above-mentioned ruling for the Eid sermon is described in the book Durr-e-Mukhtar, Volume 03 and page 67.
