WhatsApp is set to roll out a new feature that will significantly enhance group management capabilities. The updated version 2.23.16.18 is currently being introduced through the Google Play Beta Program, according to reports from WaBetaInfo.
At present, this feature is only available to a select group of beta testers. However, it is expected to be gradually extended to a larger user base in the coming weeks. This new functionality will allow group admins to review messages reported within the group chat, providing them with improved oversight and control over group interactions.
Users can access this feature via the group settings screen. Once there, individuals within a group can report any messages they find offensive or in violation of group rules. Upon receiving these reports, admins are presented with several options. They can choose to delete the reported message for all participants or take appropriate actions based on the nature of the content. In some cases, they may even decide to remove the sender of the message from the group.
This new feature aims to foster a secure and respectful environment within WhatsApp groups. It empowers admins to maintain oversight and manage group dynamics effectively, even during periods when they are not actively participating in the chat.
The reported messages requiring review will be listed in a new section found in the group info screen. Any member of the chat can easily send a message for review to the administrator by simply opening the message options, as per a WhatsApp watcher.
Users who install the latest updates to WhatsApp beta for Android will have access to this feature. As the company continues to innovate and improve its platform, users can look forward to more enhancements aimed at improving their experience and ensuring a safe and respectful communication environment.
