Subhashree Sahu (Sahoo) of Ganjam Odisha Video Goes Viral on Social Media

A 16-year-old teenager from Odisha Subhashree Sahu has recently become the subject of a viral sensation on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. The young girl, hailing from Ganjam, Odisha, found herself in the midst of an internet storm when her videos and images started circulating widely across these platforms.

Contrary to some claims, it appears that Subhashree’s pictures were already gaining attention before they were shared on other social networking sites. The video that went viral features Subhashree participating in a scene, dressed in a black top and blue trousers.

However, the situation took a dark turn when several unscrupulous websites began spreading false information about Subhashree, even creating counterfeit images and videos of her to boost their own popularity. This led to a surge in online harassment, with Subhashree’s Instagram account reportedly being deactivated for unknown reasons.

Subhashree and her boyfriend have since been trying to restore her Instagram account. Her boyfriend stated that a sum of Rs 50,000 was required to regain control of the account, a sum which Subhashree did not possess. In an attempt to raise money, Subhashree sent her boyfriend two images and five videos, which later went viral on social media. There are also reports suggesting that she sent the same content to another individual.

The situation escalated further when Subhashree was admitted to the hospital following an alleged suicide attempt. Thankfully, she is now reported to be recovering well.

In response to this incident, Subhashree and her family reported the matter to the police. An FIR has been lodged, and the case is being investigated under the POSCO Act and IT Act. This incident has sparked a wave of support for Subhashree on social media, with many users demanding justice for her and urging others not to share the images and videos, citing ethical concerns.

This unfortunate incident underscores the urgent need for stricter laws to prevent such misuse of social media and protect individuals from online harassment. It serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of the digital world, especially for young and vulnerable individuals.
