The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the schedule for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023. Online registration for MDCAT 2023 will commence on July 17, 2023, and conclude on July 31, 2023. Applicants who complete their registration within this timeframe but encounter delays in bank challan processing can pay the exam fee without any late fee until August 7, 2023. Candidates can register through the official MDCAT online portal.
The MDCAT 2023 exam is slated for August 27, 2023. The paper-based test will be conducted simultaneously at various centers across the country, including Bolan University of Medical Quetta, Baluchistan; Jinnah Sindh Medical University Sindh; Khyber Medical University Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; University of Health Sciences, Lahore Punjab; AJK SZAMBU; Federal and Gilgit SZAMBU.
In response to the delay in the notification of admitting universities from the Federal Government, candidates will have a 48-hour window, from August 6 to August 7, 2023, to make changes to their venue, admitting university, or other details in the MDCAT 2023 registration portal.
The registration fee for MDCAT 2023 remains Rs. 6,000/-, unchanged from the previous year. The passing criteria for MBBS and BDS are set at 55% and 50%, respectively. The MDCAT result will be valid nationwide for three years from the exam date, as per section 17 of the PM&DC Act 2022.
For international candidates, MDCAT-2023 will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The registration fee for these venues is 100 USD, with an additional late registration fee of 150 USD.
Candidates must select one city/station from the provided list of centers in order of preference for the entry test. It is recommended to choose the nearest city/station to their residence, as the selected city/station cannot be changed once finalized.
