Punjab Information Minister Aamir Mir issued a statement denying Abbasi’s statement about the provincial government’s free flour distribution program, saying that he has provided relief to lakhs of beneficiaries under the scheme.

Mir added that the scheme was the most successful scheme in Punjab which ensured free flour supply to around 30 million people during the holy month of Ramadan. He further said that this program has been jointly funded by the federal and provincial administrations.
The minister lamented that the scheme was being targeted due to internal divisions within the PML-N and urged the party stalwarts to provide evidence to back up their allegations or seek an apology.
“The caretaker Punjab government believes in transparency and impartiality and can account for every penny regarding the flour scheme. So no one can accuse it of corruption,” said the provincial minister. .
