- Under pressure when West Indies take on Ireland in T20 World Cup 2022 match.
- The qualification for the Super 12 stage is quite tight in Group B.
- Ireland have one win in two matches while Zimbabwe and Scotland have one win each.
West Indies will be under pressure when they face Ireland in a T20 World Cup 2022 match on Friday morning (October 21).
After losing their first game to Scotland, they fought hard to beat Zimbabwe and get their first points. The qualification for the Super 12 stage is quite tight in Group B.
Like Scotland and Ireland, West Indies’ rivals Ireland have one win in two matches. So a win for any team tomorrow takes them to the next round.
Ireland take on West Indies in the afternoon (9.30 hrs IST), while Zimbabwe take on Scotland in the evening (1.30 hrs IST).
Windies’ biggest problem is their batting. The batsmen are not getting out. Captain Nicholas Pooran has been in terrible form lately, and even Rowman Powell, Kyle Mears, and Eoin Lewis have fallen short of expectations.
Windies will need these players to deliver on Friday. Ireland, on the other hand, will rely on the likes of Paul Stirling, Andrew Balburnie (captain), Lorcan Tucker and Curtis Kaempfer.
They are a very good team, and they just need to remember their impressive record in the World Cup. They have pulled off upsets before, and it wouldn’t be wrong to argue that it wouldn’t be considered an “upset” if they beat the West Indies in this match.
