Snoop Dogg has postponed celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut studio album, Doggystyle, in solidarity with the writers’ strike.
“Due to the ongoing WGA strike and DGA and SAG/AFTRA negotiations, we have decided to postpone the shows,” Snoop informed followers on Instagram on June 2.
“We stand in solidarity with the unions and are hopeful that AMPTP will negotiate a fair deal as soon as possible, and everyone can get back to work,” the rapper stressed.
He also doubled down on his support of the WGA’s demands, saying, “We have to move that date! Me and Dr. Dre, we stand in solidarity with the writers, so what we’re going to do is, we’re going to move it to October 20th and Will push back to October. … 21.”
Earlier, another rapper, Lil Wayne, provided pickets outside Warner Bros. Studio with a Fatburger truck.
