A video has gone viral on social media showing several women and men arguing at a Woolworths store in Tamworth, Australia.
The video was taken by a bystander and shared with the police.
The video shows a heated argument turn into a brawl at the mall after men and women get into a brawl, which turns into a slugfest, as distraught customers try to stop the crazed fighters.
Around 10 people are reported to have been involved in the fight and one of the women – who was engaged in the fight – passed her infant child to a bystander before joining the fray, hitting and punching a man.
Items were flying off the shelves before Woolworths security arrived to break up the fight.
NSW Police said in a statement that officers were called to the supermarket on Peel Street at 5pm on June 1 following reports of a fight.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District were told the fight broke out in the supermarket after a verbal dispute.
A Woolworths spokesman said they were providing support to the staff involved.
“We are aware of the incident at our East Point Tamworth store last weekend and this type of violence has no place in our community,” the spokesperson said.
“We are offering the team members who witnessed him access to counseling services, and we continue to assist the police with their enquiries.”
