Canadian airline Zara Airways on Saturday announced that it will soon operate direct flights from Toronto to three major cities in Pakistan.
This announcement was made during a ceremony held at a local hotel in Karachi. Speaking on the occasion, Faqir Bawar Hussain, the official of the airline, said that they intend to start the operations of the airline as soon as possible.
He maintained that the new airline would use Shaheen Airport Services (ground handling agency), cabin crew and other staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Airways Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Quli revealed that the airline was awaiting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Canada. The CEO hoped that the airline could start operations in August.
He said that a large number of passengers wanted to take direct flights, adding that his company would provide this service to air passengers.
Quli said they will start their operations with two Boeing 777LR passenger planes, adding that the number of planes can be increased after acquiring slots from civil aviation.
Airline consultant Aizaz Haroon – ex-MDPIA – said passengers prefer to travel through direct flights.
