ANKARA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday invited Turkish investors and businessmen to increase investment in various sectors of Pakistan amid mounting debt burden and falling foreign exchange reserves.
Currently, the Prime Minister is in Ankara on a two-day official visit to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of Anadolu Group comprising Coca-Cola CCI CEO Karim Yahi, who was met by the company’s Chief Strategy Office Attila Yerlikaya and Head of Public Policy Telan Koban.
The Prime Minister encouraged Anadolu Group for bringing investment in Pakistan and providing employment opportunities to people.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Dr. Yusuf Junaid were also present in the meeting.
Earlier last night, the Prime Minister was received at the Ankara Airport by the senior officials of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey.
The Prime Minister is visiting Turkey at the invitation of Turkish President Erdogan, who won the second phase of the May 28 elections.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Shehbaz said he would heartily congratulate Erdogan on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan on his re-election as president.
He said that the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey are ready to deepen according to common determination and common destiny.
