A restaurant in the United States offered its customers a delicious “Gold Standard” burger for $700, making it the most expensive cheeseburger in Philadelphia.
Beneath the main page of the menu at Drury Beer Garden — which is set to reopen with a new name in Midtown Village — isn’t a cheese stake, but a burger — a very expensive burger.
According to a statement from the restaurant, the burger includes “eight ounces of Japanese A5 ribeye wagyu, Wexford aged Irish cheddar cheese, Italian black truffle, Italian caviar, lobster meat with Louis XIII cognac, gold leaf on a Wildflower Bakery brioche bun. And fries drizzled with 1500+MGO Manuka Honey.”
Beer Garden co-owner George Severus told local news station NBC10 that Gold Standard is about the joy of cooking.
“We are excited to offer our guests some amazing, creative and delicious options with our new menu concept,” he said.
However, Tsiouris did not say anything about the gratuity that would come from a tab that includes a $700 sandwich, although a 20% gratuity is added on parties of six or more.
