Priscilla Presley may have settled her legal battle with her granddaughter Riley Keough, but her plea was quickly dismissed amid the dispute.
According to the sources. TMZ On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Elvis Presley’s ex-wife requested to be buried next to the King of Rock and Roll at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. The request was denied because it was a non-starter and Priscilla withdrew her request without further discussion.
This problem comes from the fact that Elvis’ mother, Gladys, is buried on her right in the meditation garden, and her father, Vernon, is buried on her left, meaning that if Priscilla has her way, Elvis One of the parents has to move.
Following the death of Riley’s brother, Benjamin, who died in 2020, is buried to Vernon’s left. And when Lisa Marie died earlier this year, she was buried alongside her late son.
The legal dispute came just two weeks after Lisa Marie’s sudden death in January 2023, when Priscilla filed a petition challenging a 2016 amendment to her late daughter’s will that left Riley Keefe in charge. Additionally, he claimed that the will excluded him and business manager Barry Siegel as trustees, which was not valid.
However, the months-long war came to a conclusion. In the final settlement, Riley, Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter, is the official beneficiary of the late musician’s trust. While details of the agreement were not disclosed in court — and both sides plan to file a motion to seal the settlement. TMZ reported that Priscilla was awarded “millions”.
So far, the terms of the settlement have not been officially disclosed but lawyers have until June 14 to file terms and plan to file a motion to seal the terms. The judge is expected to rule on the motion on August 4.
