ISLAMABAD: Records and technical analysis conducted through geo-fencing reveal that on May 8, the attack on key installations – both state and army – at the Zaman Park residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. Zaman Park was contacted on 158 mobile phone numbers during the vandalism of the Corps Commander’s House, also known as Jinnah House, in Lahore on May 8.
The records also revealed that senior PTI leaders, including Yasmin Rashid, Hamad Azhar and Mahmood-ul-Rashid, maintained contacts with those involved in the May 9 riots. Meanwhile, Ejaz Chaudhry, Aslam Iqbal and Murad Ras were in touch with the protestors.
About 215 calls were made to six key PTI leaders on D-Day, out of which 10 calls were made from Azhar’s phone to miscreants, 41 calls were made to Yasmin, while Rashid made 75 calls.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry contacted the vandals in Jinnah House 50 times, Salim Iqbal 16 times and Murad Ras 23 times.
PTI workers and supporters stormed military installations. General Headquarters and at Jinnah House on May 9 during a protest against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan, which the military observed as “Black Day”. However, the party has denied involvement in vandalism.
