Marvel Studios Blade The relaunch has been delayed this time due to the ongoing strike by writers in Hollywood.
The latest edition starring Mahershala Ali as the titular superhero alongside Aaron Pear, Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth was slated for a September 2024 release.
Production, which was supposed to begin in May, has now been pushed forward. This isn’t the first time a Marvel title has been put on hold. In 2022, Disney pushed back the film’s release date from 2023 to 2024 due to director Bassam Tariq’s exit.
Blade The remake was first announced by Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. The film is now being directed by Yann Deming.
Creator of true detectivewriter Nic Pizzolatto was unable to rewrite the screenplay for the feature before the Writers Guild of America (WGA) deadline.
Work on the Vampire Hunter film is expected to resume after the writers’ strike ends.
Blade, based on a fictional character appearing in Marvel comic books, was initially introduced as a supporting character in the films before starring in the standalone films. This role was played by actor Wesley Snipes in the films. Blade, Blade II and Blade: Trinity.
