HBO CEO Casey Blues aims to deal with the Writers Guild of America strike that has put Hollywood on the back foot.
The chief executive added, “First of all, let me just start by saying that I am hopeful that a fair settlement will be reached with the writers soon which will surely bring back the talent at this stage.”
“Let’s be honest, it makes for a much more entertaining show. Until then, you’re kind of stuck with me and my clips.”
It may be mentioned here that this is the first strike by writers in 15 years.
In other news, the writers’ strike has paralyzed late-night shows.
But, NBC hosts Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon have decided to take care of staff pay during the shutdown.
Staff meetings Fallon’s Tonight Show And Mayor’s Late Night After the WGA strike, they were informed that the studio would pay the employees for two weeks.
Later, Meyers and Fallon will prepare their workers’ third-week paychecks, including employee health insurance, through September, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
