Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir is not ready to talk to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and interfere in the democratic process.
In an interview with Al JazeeraThe minister said that the current COAS, when he was the chief of intelligence, told the then prime minister Khan that his cabinet minister and his wife were involved in corruption and also provided evidence.
Instead of taking action against the corrupt [officials]Imran removed him from the post of DGISI.
Aurangzeb added that Khan knew that the current army chief was aware of his corruption and had proofs.
The PTI chief believed that COAS He further said that it is playing a role in giving evidence to the government to file cases against Khan but it is not true.
Screaming against the establishment
Referring to the PTI chief’s anti-establishment rhetoric, the information minister said Khan had offered life extension to the then Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa behind closed doors and in the Presidency Also met to invite them to intervene. A motion of no confidence against him.

If the government wanted to target him, it wouldn’t have had to wait 14 months, he said, adding, “We could have arrested him just because of the joke he was going around with. He would have been behind bars.
He said that Imran Khan dissolved the KP and Punjab Assemblies on the advice of Bajwa.
He said that Imran’s order cannot be followed because there is a constitution and law which will definitely take its course and elections will be held after the completion of the constitutional term.
