Netflix canceled its fantasy show. Warrior Nun After airing only two seasons, as it did not garner enough numbers for a renewed season, the show was confirmed deadline.
Based on a comic book character Warrior Nun Erala Originally created by Ben Dunn, the series centered on Ava Silva, played by Ava Baptista.
Sylva finds herself drawn into the world of an ancient order of nuns called the Order of the Cruciform Sword, which fights demons and other powerful forces on Earth, when an ancient artifact is embedded in her back.
After the show was cancelled, showrunner Simon Barry revealed that the drop in episode count was also due to Netflix bosses.
In an interview with Become a more super podcast.Barry confirmed that the cut was a decision made at boardroom level.
“We knew in the writing room it was going to be eight because the Netflix mandate wasn’t a budget thing. It was Netflix moving all of their shows to eight-episode seasons, their studio shows I should say, that Not the shows they acquire and broadcast but the ones they make in-house studios,” he explained.
“So, we knew that Netflix had decided to make this change across the board but it was nothing Warrior Nun Being punished for anything, we’ve been around long enough that it goes from 10 to 8 for everyone.
Simon Barry developed the series for television and served as executive producer and showrunner. Stephen Haggis and David Hayter also executive produced, with Amy Berg serving as consulting producer. Terry Hughes Burton was a co-executive producer.
