ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday challenged the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab.
PTI has filed the petition as a political party and this petition has been filed by PTI General Secretary Asad Umar.
The petition has requested the Supreme Court to stop Naqvi from serving as the interim chief minister.
In the petition, PTI has also challenged the appointments of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Raja Riaz and the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
PTI has made the federal government, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf, Leader of Opposition Raja Riaz, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments, Election Commission of Pakistan and Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi a party in the case.
Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has filed a separate petition challenging the appointment of Chief Minister Naqvi.
