Prince Harry is speaking out about his minor injury which was blown out of proportion by the British media.
Sharing in his memoir ‘Spear’, the Duke of Sussex writes how a broken bone in his thumb led the papers to break out horror stories.
He begins: “The paper put me on the front page again. Harry had an accident. I broke my thumb playing rugby, no big deal, but the paper decided I was on life support. Bad taste, in any case, but a little more than a year after Mom’s alleged accident? Come on, guys.”
Harry added: “I’ve worked with the British press all my life, but they’ve never told me before. In fact, since the mother’s death, an unspoken agreement with her two sons has controlled press treatment. What was, and the deal went like this: Leave. Let them study in peace. Apparently that deal was over now, because there I was, sprawled across the front page, looking like a fragile flower. Or ass or both of them.”
Harry’s memoir is now on shelves around the world.
