KARACHI: Back with its second season, the Pakistan Boat Rally is scheduled to take place in mid-February this year.
After the success of the inaugural edition of the Boat Rally in 2021, the Pakistan Boat Rally and Fishing Association (PBRFA) has decided to promote marine tourism.
“After the success of the first edition of the Pakistan Boat Rally, we got an overwhelming response from the people,” said PBRFA President Ahmed Mamour Amimi while addressing a press briefing on Tuesday.
He announced the continuation of the rally aimed at promoting the maritime sports whose second edition is considered a “passion”.
“Initially, we plan to hold this rally in mid-February this year,” Amemi said.
Last time there was a rally between Gwadar and the sea of Karachi. This time the distance will be reduced to make the rally more interesting.
“This time, we will end our rally at Astola Island, one of the beautiful islands of Pakistan. Shorter distance will increase the competition among the boaters,” the organizer said.
“We have started receiving applications to participate. About 10-12 boaters will be able to participate in this event,” he added.
The Pakistan Navy is the biggest supporter of the Pakistan Boat Rally and helped the organizers to make the event a success last year.
“Pakistan Navy has always supported us in this cause. Together we will make marine tourism more popular in Pakistan,” concluded Amimi.
