Tennis star Kyrgios said of the documentary series ahead of this year’s Australian Open: “It wasn’t just for me. I think the world of tennis desperately needs to be put back on the global map.”
“Obviously when Novak and (Rafael) Nadal go as well as Roger (Federer). This Netflix (show) is kind of the last hope to put tennis on the map globally for a long, long time,” he added. It’s going to be interesting. We have a lot of young personalities. I think the first episode is quite exciting and I think it will definitely keep people interested.”
Kyrgios also spoke about his mental health and drinking habits. “I just had to be kind to myself for my mental health. I was never going to be a player who played all year. I just couldn’t do that,” he said.
