Renowned comedian Majid Jahangir died after a long illness, his family said on Wednesday.
His son Fahad Majeed said that the legendary comedian will be laid to rest in Karachi.
The comedian was injured a month ago after falling from his bed. His spine was broken in the accident.
Majid Jahangir, who rose to fame with his work in the comedy series Fifty Fifty, was suffering from a respiratory ailment which worsened recently.
He was admitted in a critical condition in a hospital in Lahore in November 2020.
The actor, who lost partial function due to a stroke nearly five years ago, was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Lahore.
Jahangir was awarded the Pride of Performance Award – Pakistan’s highest honor – for his memorable performance in Fifty Fifty. He worked for Pakistan Television Network (PTV) for 22 years and acted in four films.
