Dubai: One Earthquake A 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit northwestern Iran near the Turkish border on Saturday, killing at least three people and injuring more than 300, state media reported.
State news agency IRNA quoted the head of emergency services at the university in Khoy Shahr, near the epicenter of the earthquake, as saying.
An emergency official told state TV that snow was falling in some affected areas, with freezing temperatures and some power outages reported.
Major geological fault lines criss-cross Iran, which has suffered several devastating earthquakes in recent years.
