On the fourth day of the second Test against England in Multan, questions have been raised over the catch of England wicketkeeper Olive Pope by Pakistani batsman Saud Shakeel.
Shakeel, who was batting on 94, was dismissed in a decision that was disputed by several cricketers, including Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
Shakeel played. EnglandMark Wood’s ball that went behind the wickets and was caught by Ollie Pope. Bowler, wicket keeper and other players appealed for catch out after which Aleem Dar sought the opinion of the third umpire on the matter.
After a full review of the catch, the third umpire declared Shakeel out. The decision sparked a hateful debate on social media, with people calling it “suspicious”.

Many criticized Dar for his umpiring skills and said Shakeel was clearly not out.
