- The district administration sealed the mall after negotiating with the traders.
ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad on Tuesday evening sealed a mall hours after the Capital Development Authority (CDA) closed it for “violation” of building norms.
The mall has been sealed after the district administration negotiated with the traders, who had been protesting since morning after the mall was closed.
Traders blocked Jinnah Avenue in protest and warned that they would shut down the capital if the mall was not opened.
The PTI linked the closure of the mall to a protest by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, who owns the mall, during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speech in Mangala.
“Seal [mall] PDM mafia reprimanding Shehbaz Sharif for not mentioning the sacrifices of Kashmiris in response to PMAJK shows that Pakistan has been the law of the jungle for the last eight months.
The PTI chairperson said the move “sends a negative signal to Kashmiris” and it was also a question for the judges.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry also criticized the move.
“During AJ’s PM [Prime Minister] Shahbaz Sharif stood on his seat and protested against Pakistan’s weak stance on Kashmir issue which first got his car stopped in Mangala and today his business was sealed, Fawad tweeted.
“Never before in the history of Pakistan has there been such a fascist government. If the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be treated like this just for protesting, what message are you sending to occupied Kashmir and foreign investors in the country?” ?Fawad tweeted that such measures would drag down an already battered economy.
In a tweet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb criticized the PTI chief, saying that a person who has “failed” on many fronts, including governance and foreign policy, should refrain from lecturing the Prime Minister on the Kashmir issue. Should.
A day earlier, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had blocked Prime Minister Shehbaz for “not mentioning the sacrifices of Kashmiris” during his speech.
The disruption occurred during Prime Minister Shehbaz’s speech after inaugurating the renovation project of Unit No. 5 and 6 of the Mangla Dam Hydroelectric Power Plant built on the Jhelum River in Mangla.
A fire broke out in a shopping mall in Islamabad.
This is the same mall where a fire broke out in its food court in October. However, the fire was quickly brought ‘under control’.
In a statement, Islamabad Police said people were rescued and evacuated safely through the back door of the mall – which was engulfed in smoke after the fire.
After the fire, the Islamabad Police sealed the building on the order of the Deputy Commissioner.
He added that the mall building will remain sealed till the matter is investigated. Until then, public entry into the building will be prohibited.
The mall was later opened to the public.
Even then, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir He had alleged that he feared that the fire at a popular shopping mall in Islamabad was a case of “political vendetta”.
“There is a fear of that. [federal government] is doing political hunting in light of the political situation,” said an aide to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, referring to the dispute between the Center and the PTI, which rules the regional territory.
