ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is all set to share a framework based on Resilience, Resilience, Reconstruction and Recovery (4RFs) with international partners next week before formally presenting the document. will Donors Conference.

Since the completion of the PDNA, the Ministry has intensified its efforts to implement the 4RFs by engaging donors so that Pakistan can make a strong case at the donor conference in Geneva in January next year.
Last month, the Planning Commission conducted a Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the European Union and called for coordinated international assistance. Member Infrastructure, Planning Commission in its presentation highlighted a long-term plan consisting of a ten-year plan to implement the 4RFs plan in 17 sectors, namely infrastructure, education and health, which will be entirely based on climate resilience.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has also engaged the donors and several meetings have been held after the completion of the PDNA. (Today) On Thursday, the Economic Affairs Secretary will meet with donors to make a strong case at the donor conference.
Most of the projects will be implemented by the provinces in their respective sectors such as the ML-1 project which will be implemented by Pakistan Railways. Iqbal assured the participants that the government will ensure full transparency and accountability of the funds used as Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has already assured the world to make the entire process transparent. In response to a question, he said that only re-use of funds is not enough as Pakistan has to achieve its goals under SDGs.
Donors appreciated the government’s efforts and assured to continue partial support to Pakistan in the upcoming donor conference. Pakistan strongly pleaded on this issue.
