Family sources said that Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is going to get married this February.
Sources said that the 22-year-old star fast bowler will marry his betrothed, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi on February 3. However, Ansha’s departure will be later.
According to the details shared by the sources, both the families have started preparations for the marriage ceremony.
It should be noted that Shaheen will get busy in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting from February 13 right after his marriage.
Addressing the Geo News show”Live a day together”, the 21-year-old revealed that he wanted to marry Afridi’s daughter Ansha.
He said that this was my wish and Alhamdulillah it is now being fulfilled. “I met him and will meet him soon,” an embarrassed Shaheen told interviewer Sohail Waraich.
Shaheen Afridi is the backbone of Pakistan’s bowling attack. He made his international debut for the Pakistan national team in the 50-over format in April 2018. He started his Test career in December of the same year.
The super-long seamer became famous in 2017, when the world saw the 17-year-old fast bowler hit 90 mph.
He is considered an all-rounder and tries to excel in bowling, batting and fielding.
However, he is currently going through a tough patch as he was recently ruled out of two major events – the Asia Cup 2022 and the ongoing Pakistan Test series against England – due to back-to-back injuries.
Shaheen suffered a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury while fielding during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in July 2022 and after the latest scans and reports, the body’s Medical Advisory Committee and independent experts have given him four Six weeks of rest was advised.
PCL injuries are usually accompanied by damage to the knee, including nerve and blood vessel injuries. These are usually the result of severe knee trauma and should be seen by a specialist immediately.
He returned to the field after more than two months of rehabilitation to feature in the T20 World Cup 2022.
However, Pakistan suffered a major setback when the pacer had to leave the field in the death overs of the World Cup final against England, suffering another injury while fielding in the same match. The outcome of the Pakistan vs England match could have been different if Shaheen had continued to bowl.
