KARACHI: After identifying errors, the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) on Monday decided to award grace marks to the candidates appearing in the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test (MDCAT).
Pakistan Medical Commission President Dr Naushad Ahmed Shaikh said that during the PMC meeting, the complaints of the candidates were analyzed during which it was decided that grace marks will be given for wrong questions as well as out-of-course.
The PMC has given instructions to the vice chancellors of all the universities taking the test.
The commission will release the full MDCAT results within a week.
A day earlier, over 0.204 million candidates had sat for MDCAT through federal and provincial public sector universities, the PMC said.
According to Dr Naushad, 204,253 youths participated in the test, including 203,791 at centers across the country and 461 from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The minimum pass percentage in paper-based MDCAT is 65 for admission in medical colleges and 55 for admission in dental colleges.
