Nick Carter and Angel Carter started a charity to raise awareness of mental health after the death of their brother Aaron Carter. Page six.
“So grateful for the outpouring of love and support for my brother,” the Backstreet Boys member wrote in part on his Instagram story about the fund donation. “In his name, a new endowment fund has been launched to benefit @onoursleevesoffical, a leading children’s mental health organization that supports families across America.”
Fans and supporters can make monetary donations on the fund’s page, which reads, “Thank you for choosing to celebrate the impact of Aaron Carter’s life with the gift of hope. By honoring Aaron, you Nick , supporting Angel and his family’s commitment to helping others.
Aaron’s twin sister, Angel, also urged her followers to pay their respects to the late singer by donating during this “incredibly dark time”. Page six.
“Mental health is so incredibly important. It’s not talked about enough and is often overlooked,” she wrote on her story. “Mental illness causes many different problems in your life and can lead to serious problems like addiction.”
He continued, “Aaron was an incredibly kind, gentle, talented and funny person. We hope you choose to remember Aaron who we all loved deeply and that you Will keep sharing these beautiful memories of her.
According to a press release for the nonprofit (via People magazine), “On Our Sleeves is on a mission to break down the stigma around children’s mental health in America, as well as provide access to essential, evidence-informed educational resources to educate families and advocates.”
Aaron died on November 5, 2022 at the age of 34. The singer-actor rose to fame with his self-titled debut album in 1997, followed by Aaron party (come get it) (2000) O Aaron (2001), Another earthquake! (2002) and love (2018), by People magazine.
