ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court has reserved its decision on the bail plea of PTI leaders in the terrorism case. Section 144 In Islamabad
At the beginning of the hearing, lawyer Babar Awan appeared in the court. He was accompanied by PTI leaders Faisal Javed Khan and Ali Nawaz Awan who were named in the case.
During the hearing, Awan said that PTI leaders were accused of blocking roads and raising slogans against the government. He said that they are also accused of damaging state property and spreading fear by shouting slogans and attacking with sticks.
The lawyer added that cases were registered against PTI leaders just for standing on the road. He said that so far 37 cases have been registered in Islamabad with the same provisions.
On this, Judge Raja Jawad Abbas said that 15 percent of political cases are in ATC.
The court asked the prosecutor to present his arguments. On this, the prosecutor said that he did not have the record of the case.
He further said that I will present the arguments after getting the records.
The court ordered the prosecutor to present his arguments by November 14.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 14, reserving its decision after the arguments of Awan were completed.
Problem
After that, an FIR was registered against the former prime minister on August 24. Nationwide rallies were announced. to express solidarity with his chief of staff, Shahbaz Gul, over claims that his party leader was “sexually assaulted” while in custody in a sedition case.
Many PTI leaders including Imran Khan and Asad Umar, Murad Saeed, Fawad Chaudhry and Faisal Javed have been named in the case.
Sheikh Rasheed is also among the 17 persons named in the FIR.
It has been stated in the FIR that Imran Khan violated Section 144 along with party leaders. The FIR states that PTI leaders and around 1,000 of their supporters blocked the road at the behest of Imran Khan.
It added that Imran Khan and other PTI leaders also used loudspeakers.
